Blank walls are missed conversations. With a little planning, you can turn any wall into a story that reflects who you are and what you love.
1. Decide: Single Piece or Gallery?
Above a sofa or bed, a single oversized piece reads as calm and confident. In stairwells or long hallways, gallery walls bring energy and movement. Match the format to the room's purpose.
2. Hang at Eye Level
The center of the artwork should sit around 145–150 cm from the floor—roughly average eye level. When hanging above furniture, leave 15–25 cm between the top of the furniture and the bottom of the frame.
3. Mix Sizes, Match Frames
For gallery walls, vary the size of pieces but unify them with similar frame colors—all black, all natural wood, or all brass. The frame is the visual thread that ties everything together.
4. Plan on the Floor First
Before putting a single nail in the wall, arrange your pieces on the floor. Photograph the layout. Adjust spacing until it feels balanced—then transfer to the wall.
5. Don't Forget Negative Space
Not every wall needs art. One beautifully empty wall makes the decorated walls feel even more intentional. Restraint is part of the composition.
